The Axis of Access: Lunch, Launch, and Learn

Sept. 19th, 2025. 11:30 to 2:00 pm at the Artesian
Join us for the provincial premiere of the Axis of Access, a joint initiative by Listen to Dis' Community and Art Organization and the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance. This living, plain-language document offers a welcoming entry point for learning about accessibility in Saskatchewan’s arts sector from a disability cultural perspective, with clear, actionable principles to help artists and arts organizations begin building accessible practices.

Celebrate Culture Days with us over lunch as we launch this important resource with a public reading, a community conversation, and a snapshot performance by The Dripping Honeys, the Listen to Dis' music ensemble. Everyone is welcome, including artists, arts sector workers, and community leaders.

This will be approximately a three hour event, with lunch provided. ASL interpretation will be available. Registration is required.

Other Upcoming Culture Days Events
Listen to Dis' Voice Listen To Dis’ Voice is an open door community program with a focus on body, breath, and voice work. The program has been operating for 18 years, under the facilitation of Traci Foster, and we are excited to expand its reach through Saskatchewan Culture Days with three sessions from three different facilitators. See images below for links. Sept. 22nd, Sept. 29th and Oct. 6th, 2025 at the Artesian. Each session will be from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. BE HEARD: Somatics, Voice and Self Advocacy with Traci Foster Listen to Dis' founder Traci Foster will lead an intimately inclusion-focused workshop rooted in a creative and physical approach to voice. Traci is Canada's first certified Fitzmaurice Voicework™ instructor who explores her work through somatic art with a focus on where awareness, intuition, and action intersect. She has taught in Saskatchewan, Toronto, Vancouver, and Los Angeles. Participants will be led through a series of physical exercises (likened to yoga), using breath and voice as a first impulse, to learn how to feel safe and nurtured while expressing. This work will help develop your body and voice to vibrantly express and communicate with ease and pleasure in everyday life, in self-advocacy, and as a creative being. There will be a focus on, and discussions of, mindful approaches to maintaining embodied presence throughout the workshop. All work is trauma informed and is situationally adapted so everyone feels safe and welcome. Light refreshments will be provided. Sept. 27th and 28th, 2025, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day at The Artesian. Registration is required. Please register by Sept. 21st at the link on the image below.
