Our Programs

Listen to Dis’ offers disability-led programming that fosters artistic excellence, community building, and professional opportunities for disabled artists in Saskatchewan and beyond. All community programming is barrier-free, with supports in place to remove physical, sensory, and communication barriers. Some programs also generate revenue to sustain equitable wages for our team.

Professional
Performance

The Other Ordinary
An emerging professional disability theatre ensemble and one of the very few touring disability-led theatre companies in Canada, The Other Ordinary creates and presents original work across Saskatchewan. Their performances spark dialogue, deepen understanding of disability culture, and provide vital professional opportunities for disabled performers.

The Dripping Honeys
A professional music ensemble of neurodivergent and physically disabled artists, The Dripping Honeys perform widely across the province — from community festivals to care homes and seniors’ residences. Their work brings disability culture into diverse community spaces while advancing professional music careers for their members. They educate and advocate for disability justice while entertaining.

Community and Art Outreach

Listen to Dis’ Voice
Running for 18 years, this barrier-free community program supports personal and professional skill development through art. The group meets regularly in Regina with an open-door policy welcoming participants of all abilities.

Visiting Artist Series (Online)
Monthly online sessions facilitated by professional artists, offering accessible, inclusive art-making opportunities that bring community members together locally and beyond. The series centers disability-led creative practices and fosters connection through shared creativity.

Community Outreach
We facilitate adapted dance and theatre classes for disabled children and youth and provide education about disability culture in schools and communities across Saskatchewan. Our Somatic Sundays program offers accessible yoga, meditation, and trauma-informed body, breath, and voice work to support holistic wellness.

Youth and Emerging Artist Development
We are currently developing a 12-week theatre training program that includes playwriting, acting and voice/movement sessions designed to provide professional development and self-advocacy skills for emerging disabled artists, supporting their growth within the art sector.

Consultations and Disability Audits

We partner with arts organizations, businesses, community groups, and individuals to deepen their understanding of and commitment to access and inclusion through a disability culture lens. Our consultations and audits assess organizational attitudes, environments, structures, and policies, providing practical recommendations to enhance accessibility and equity.

These services are delivered in-person, online, or in hybrid formats, generating revenue to support our disability-led organization while advancing sector-wide access and inclusion.

Why our
programs
matter.

Listen to Dis’ is Saskatchewan’s first and only disability-led disability arts organization. Our work creates professional pathways for disabled artists, builds vibrant community through the arts, and advances disability culture locally and beyond. By investing in artist development, community engagement, and sector-wide accessibility, we are shaping a more inclusive and dynamic arts landscape.

Abstract Light Waves
"As a disabled artist and advocate, I know that simply naming the funders who support LTD’s programming isn’t enough. After the applause, we must recognize that without funders there’d be no performers, no performance, no audience. It’s our responsibility to teach, especially youth and vulnerable community members, how this all works. To me, it’s the ultimate creative collaboration."
