The Axis of Access
Helping artists and arts organizations begin building accessible practices.

We are proud to announce the completion, in collaboration with Saskatchewan Arts Alliance, of The Axis of Access — a living, plain-language document that offers a welcoming entry point for learning about accessibility in Saskatchewan’s arts sector from a disability cultural perspective, with clear, actionable principles to help artists and arts organizations begin building accessible practices.

Culture Days
Voice with Traci Foster

This intimately accessible workshop will support a deeper understanding of how breath and voice function and how this can contribute to well-being and self regulation. This will be the first of three evening sessions over the course of the Saskatchewan Culture Days window, each taught by a different artist with expertise in developing and using one's voice and using the voice to self advocate and creatively express. It will be facilitated by Traci Foster.

Culture Days
BE HEARD: Somatics, Voice and Self Advocacy with Traci Foster

Listen to Dis' founder Traci Foster will lead an intimately inclusion-focused workshop rooted in a creative and physical approach to voice. Traci is Canada's first certified Fitzmaurice Voicework™ instructor who explores her work through somatic art with a focus on where awareness, intuition, and action intersect. She has taught in Saskatchewan, Toronto, Vancouver, and Los Angeles.

Participants will be led through a series of physical exercises (likened to yoga), using breath and voice as a first impulse, to learn how to feel safe and nurtured while expressing. This work will help develop your body and voice to vibrantly express and communicate with ease and pleasure in everyday life, in self-advocacy, and as a creative being. There will be a focus on, and discussions of, mindful approaches to maintaining embodied presence throughout the workshop. All work is trauma informed and is situationally adapted so everyone feels safe and welcome. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is required. For any specific access needs or accommodations, please contact info@listentodis.com.
